HOLY QURAN
The Holy Quran
The Holy Quran is the central religious text of Islam, considered by Muslims to be the verbatim word of God as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning in 610 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632 CE, the year of his death. It is written in Arabic and is divided into chapters called surahs, which vary in length, and are further divided into verses, known as ayahs.
The Quran addresses a wide range of topics, including theology, morality, guidance for personal conduct, and societal laws. It serves as the primary source of Islamic law and ethics, guiding Muslims in matters of faith and practice.
The Quran is highly revered in Islam and is recited and memorized by Muslims worldwide. Its teachings provide guidance for Muslims in all aspects of life, and its language is considered to be of unparalleled beauty and eloquence in Arabic literature.
Translations of the Quran exist in many languages to make its teachings accessible to non-Arabic speakers, though the original Arabic text is considered the most authoritative. Muslims believe that the Quran is a timeless and universal message, applicable to all humanity regardless of time and place.
